GVSU to host electric car workshop for high school students

More than 120 high school students from West Michigan will attend an electric car workshop at Grand Valley State University November 10. Students will learn about aerodynamic drag on race cars during a presentation and demonstration. 

The workshop will be led by aerospace engineer Taylor Irwin, an affiliate professor of engineering at Grand Valley who spent 12 years working with space systems at NASA and in California.

Tuesday, November 10, 11:30 a.m.-3 p.m.

Eberhard Center, Pew Grand Rapids Campus

The workshop will begin at 12:15 p.m.

The workshop is offered each year to teach students how to build the electric cars they will race in the National Electric Cart Association races at Berlin Raceway in the spring.
