A state senator and a well-known entrepreneur are just two of the half-dozen speakers who will take the stage during the 2015-16 Wheelhouse Talks series, hosted by the Hauenstein Center for Presidential Studies at Grand Valley State University.

The Wheelhouse Talks are a monthly series that feature presentations by civil servants, entrepreneurs, business leaders and more, as they discuss their leadership perspectives, life lessons, personal motivations and other topics in their "wheelhouse" that have impacted their lives to make them the leaders of today.

All of the presentations will take place on Friday afternoons at 3:30 p.m. in the Loosemore Auditorium on Grand Valley's Pew Grand Rapids Campus, located at the intersection of Winter Avenue and West Fulton Street.

The 2015-16 series will include six speakers:

September 11: Charles Pazdernik, GVSU professor of classics and an expert in Greco-Roman political and legal history, late antiquity and classical historiography

October 2: Megan Sall, member of the GVSU Board of Trustees and business development manager at The Right Place

November 13: Mike Jandernoa, founder and chair of 42 North Partners and Jandernoa Entrepreneurial Mentoring

January 22: Rebekah Warren, state senator for Michigan's 18th District

February 12: Brian Flanagan, managing director of the Sanger Leadership Center at the University of Michigan

March 18: Kate Pew Wolters, philanthropist, disability advocate and GVSU Board of Trustees member
