Sustainable Agriculture Project to host harvest party

Students, faculty, and staff members can attend the Sustainable Agriculture Project's annual harvest party on Friday, September 25.

The event will feature locally grown produce, activities, games and live music. Those interested in volunteering to help set up and prepare food should arrive at 1 p.m.; food will be served at 4 p.m.

“Our purpose is to invite the community to the SAP to celebrate the growing season and strengthen relationships,” said Youssef Darwich, farm manager of the Sustainable Agriculture Project.

Darwich said previous harvest parties have been successful. “Last year we had close to 90 people at the farm. There was good energy and conversation," he said.

Attendees and volunteers are welcome to bring a dish made from locally grown produce. The event will take place at the SAP, located at 4539 Luce St. in Allendale.
