Alumni updates get new online presence

Alumni updates, the news briefs about careers, marriages, births or adoptions printed in Grand Valley Magazine, have moved online.

Now called “Laker Landings,” Grand Valley alumni can post their information at www.gvsu.edu/lakerlandings.

Chris Barbee, director of Alumni Relations, said moving alumni updates online allows for more timely information and additional updates. Alumni can submit updates of the following types: Anniversary, Award/Recognition, Birth/Adoption, Community Involvement, Job Update, Military Service, and Wedding. The site is searchable and allows users to upload photos.

The “In Memoriam” section of alumni deaths will continue to be printed in Grand Valley Magazine, as will a sampling of Laker Landings. This change will be effective in the winter 2017 issue.
