Nearly 40 awards will be given at the eighth annual celebration that recognizes individuals who support the ideals of sustainable practices and use a triple bottom line approach (social, environmental, economic) to problems and issues. New this year is the presentation of the Distinguished and Emerging Community Engagement Initiative Awards by the Office for Community Engagement at Grand Valley.

During the event, a student will be presented with an award from the Dave Feenstra Sustainable Agriculture Project Internship Fund, which was established in memory of Dave Feenstra who died in December following an accident at his family's greenhouse. Feenstra retired from Grand Valley in 2012 as a maintenance supervisor, then returned in 2014 to serve as adjunct manager for the Sustainable Agriculture Project.
