Time story on Michelle Obama DNC speech mentions Hauenstein Center

A blog post by Gleaves Whitney, director of Grand Valley's Hauenstein Center for Presidential Studies, was referenced in a Time magazine story posted July 28. 

The story focused on the historical aspect of comments made by first lady Michelle Obama during her speech to the Democratic National Committee in Philadelphia on July 25. During the speech she said she "wakes up every morning in a house built by slaves."

The story also focused on presidents who owned slaves while in office — a topic covered in-depth by Whitney's blog post.
