Annual MIPERC conference set, abstracts accepted

The 10th annual MIPERC Conference, "Team Science and Virtual Health," is set for September 21-22 at the DeVos Center, and podium and poster abstracts are being accepted.

MIPERC is an organization founded by Grand Valley, Grand Rapids Medical Education Partners and Michigan State University-College of Human Medicine to develop regional infrastructure for interprofessional education, practice and research. Housed in the Office of the Vice Provost for Health, MIPERC has a membership of more than 24 institutions and organizations in six states.

The deadline to submit abstracts is June 1; details are online. Registration is now open and can be completed on the website.

Three nationally recognized experts on interprofessional education are scheduled to give keynote presentations: 

• Barbara Brandt, director of the National Center for Interprofessional Practice and Education, and associate vice president for education, University of Minnesota; 

• Eduardo Salas, professor and chair of psychology, Rice University;

• Dr. John Scott, medical director and telehealth associate director, Hepatitis and Liver Clinic, Harborview Medical Center, University of Washington.
