Two of Michigan's congressional representatives recognized and celebrated the 50th anniversary of Grand Valley's first graduates.
U.S. Rep. Bill Huizenga spoke on the House floor June 22 about how 138 students received their diplomas in 1967 from Michigan's newest college in 1967. Huizenga's speech aired on C-SPAN.
U.S. Sen. Gary Peters sent his congratulations in a video. Peters said the success of members of the Class of 1967 helped establish Grand Valley's "glowing reputation" for preparing highly qualified graduates.
The Class of 1967 celebrated its reunion June 23-24 on the Allendale Campus.
