Construction project will repurpose stadium box to meeting space
Construction will begin this week at Lubbers Stadium on a project to repurpose and expand the President's Box as a year-round meeting space.
Keri Becker, director of athletics, said the new space will expand the small room above the current box into a large, multipurpose meeting room, adding about 50 seats.
"This serves a purpose far beyond six home football games," Becker said. "The new space will be used for meetings by anyone from campus, and coaches from all sports can use it to meet with recruits."
Scott Richardson, acting vice president for Finance and Administration, said, "We are very fortunate to have friends and sponsors whose in-kind donations are making this project possible.”
