Faculty, staff will repair students' belongings during free event
During the day-to-day busyness of classes and activities on campus, it is not uncommon for students to rip their clothes, misplace a few buttons, or break their eyeglasses, a zipper or a backpack strap.
An upcoming Repair Clinic will offer students a free opportunity to have all of the above scenarios and more mended by Grand Valley faculty and staff members.
The event will take place October 24, from 6-8 p.m., in the Holton-Hooker Learning and Living Center's Multipurpose Room on the Allendale Campus.
Also during the Repair Clinic, academic advisors will be available to help students schedule classes for the winter semester and review studying skills and best practices, and a representative from Housing and Residence Life will be on-hand to help students apply for on-campus housing and answer questions.
Students will also have an opportunity to learn how to knit during free tutorials with knitting needles and yarn provided.
The clinic is a collaboration between the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences and Housing and Residence Life, and volunteers will be on-hand from multiple campus departments.
