Ottawa County Sheriff's Office updates sexual assault investigation

The Ottawa County Sheriff's Office issued a news release updating the investigation into the reported sexual assault Saturday, November 3, that prompted Grand Valley State University to issue a Safety Notice. 

Here is an excerpt:

"Detectives have spoken with several possible witnesses, as well as the reporting party. At this point in the investigation it does not appear as though a sexual assault occurred, and furthermore, it does not appear that any of the party-goers had been drugged. The sheriff’s office will continue to investigate allegations such as this to the fullest extent possible. Anyone with information about this or any other crime is asked to call Silent Observer at 1-877-88-SILENT."
