Replenish opens food resource on Health Campus

Replenish, the university's food pantry and food resource for students located in the Kirkhof Center on the Allendale Campus, has expanded to Grand Rapids.
A second location is now open in the Cook-DeVos Center for Health Sciences, room 353, on the Health Campus. The hours of operation are Monday-Thursday from 7:30 a.m.-9 p.m. and Friday from 7:30 a.m.-5 p.m.
An open house will be held January 10 from 1-3 p.m. in 340 CHS; guests are asked to bring an item to donate.
Sharalle Arnold, associate director of the Center for Women and Gender Equity, said food insecurity among college students is a nationwide problem. More than 1,000 Grand Valley students have received assistance from the pantry since it was established in 2009.
The pantry provides food and personal care items for students who face financial struggles that affect their food access.
The expansion is a partnership among the Gayle R. Davis Center for Women and Gender Equity, Office of the Vice Provost for Health, and the Student Nurses Association.
