Grand Valley's Charter Schools Office is hosting College Prep Week, an annual program that brings students from GVSU-authorized charter schools to the Allendale CampusĀ for a week to experience life as a college student.

While on campus, students live in campus housing, participate in mock classes, meet with student organizations and learn about student support services.

A total of 88 students are taking part in the program. The first College Prep Week was held July 7-12, the second began July 14 and runs through July 19.

Students also take classes on ethics, personal finance, accounting, education, allied health sciences, movement science, pre-professional studies, and hospitality and tourism management.

The program also has a cultural component which gives students an opportunity to spend a day exploring the city of Grand Rapids, including several museums, along with a day in Saugatuck learning about the history of Lake Michigan and the lakeshore.
