Convocation to be webcast live August 23

Grand Valley President Philomena V. Mantella will participate in her first Convocation ceremony and address students Friday, August 23.

Convocation is a celebration that marks the beginning of the academic year. It will be webcast live at 11:30 a.m. from the Fieldhouse on the Allendale Campus. 

The webcast can be viewed via gvsu.edu/livestream, or on the university's YouTube channel, gvsu.edu/s/17y.

Other Convocation speakers will include Provost Maria Cimitile, University Academic Senate Chair Felix Ngassa, Student Senate President Eric-John Szczepaniak and alumni speaker state Rep. Kyra Harris Bolden.
