Elena Lioubimtseva, professor and chair of geography and sustainable planning, and a student were interviewed by WGVU for a story about the Climate Change Education Solutions Summit held at Grand Valley.

Megan Riksen, assistant director for the Career Center, was interviewed by WOOD-TV 8 for a story about the 2019 job outlook for college graduates.

Rachel Becklin, senior associate director for the Career Center, was interviewed by WZZM-TV 13 for a story about college internships.

Eric Harvey, assistant professor of communications, was interviewed by the AV Club for a story about the use of Public Enemy's "Fight the Power" in Spike Lee's film, "Do The Right Thing."

Rick Rediske, professor and researcher of water resources, has been interviewed by Science Magazine, MLive and other outlets for stories about Concerned Citizens for Responsible Remediation, the citizens group who brought awareness to the dangers of PFAS.

Alumni Relations won a CASE Circle of Excellence silver award in the Alumni Relations Program for Special Constituencies category for "Paving the Way for Future Generations: Stories of African Americans Who Were Firsts at Grand Valley."

Kristin Meyer, user experience librarian for the University Libraries, was a co-author of a chapter, "Not What You Expected: Implementing Design Thinking as a Leadership Practice," for a book, Supporting Entrepreneurship and Innovation: Advances in Library Administration and Organization.

Chad Paul Frederick, assistant professor of geography and sustainable planning, was a co-author of an article, "Putting ‘Place’ in its Place: Comparing Place-based Factors in Interurban Analyses of Life Expectancy in the United States," published in Science Direct.

Joel Stillerman, professor of sociology, Meijer Honors College, wrote a review, "The Sum of Small Things: A Theory of the Aspirational Class," published in the American Journal of Sociology.

Al Steinman, director of the Annis Water Resources Institute, gave a keynote presentation, "Watershed Management in Michigan: Facts, Fiction, and Frustration,” at the Michigan Lake Stewardship Association annual meeting in Boyne; and a presentation, “Climate Change: Knowns and Unknowns,” for the Michigan Society of Professional Engineers in Lansing.

Carlos Martinez, assistant director for the Career Center, gave a presentation, "Leadership, Branding, and Networking: A Path to Success," at the ALSAME Latino Youth Conference held at Grand Valley.

Mario Fifi, associate professor of psychology, received a $147,646 grant from the National Science Foundation for a research project, "Determining the Fundamental Cognitive Properties of Decision Making." 

Peimin Ni, professor of philosophy, gave a keynote presentation, "Theories of the Heart-mind and Globalization of Confucianism Today," at the Midwest Conference on Chinese Thought in Naperville, Illinois.

Eric Ramsson, associate professor of biomedical sciences, wrote an article, “A Simplified LED-driven Switch for Fast-scan Controlled-adsorption Voltammetry Instrumentation,” published in the Journal HardwareX.
