Career Center visits employer partner
Ten Career Center staff members traveled to Ann Arbor to visit Coyote Logistics, an employer partners. Staff members job shadowed Coyote Logistics employees to learn about their roles and the company's recruiting strategy. The company has 200 employees, including several Grand Valley alumni, and plans to move to Detroit and grow to 600 employees.
Sketches
The Division of Student Services is now known as the Division of Student Affairs, effective July 1. The name change is reflective of contemporary and professional practice, standards and identity. It creates a better framework around fostering a cohesive strategy for all student-facing resources.

Libby MacQuillan, assistant professor of clinical dietetics, earned the international Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator credential.
Sylvia Simons, adjunct faculty for nursing, was appointed to the board of directors for LeadingAge Michigan.
Michael Webster, professor of English, gave a presentation, "Cummings' Aesthetic Dadaism," at the American Literature Association annual conference in Boston, Massachusetts.
Kathryn Remlinger, professor of English, and two students gave a presentation, "What it Means to be Local: Identity and Place in Holland, Michigan," at Freedom Village in Holland; Remlinger and three students gave a presentation, "Ideological Borders of Place and Belonging in Holland, Michigan," at the Midwestern History Association meeting.
Steve Glass, professor of exercise science, and a student gave a presentation, "Effect of a Two-week Strength Training Learning Intervention on Self-selected Weight Training Intensity," at the annual meeting of the American College of Sports Medicine in Orlando, Florida.
Allied Health Sciences faculty members Claudia Leiras and Alisha Davis gave presentations, "Examining Microaggressions for Engaged Inclusivity," at the Association of American Colleges & Universities Diversity, Equity, and Student Success Conference in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; and "Academic and Community Partnerships: Creating Learning Environments to Educate on the Impacts of Microaggressions," at the International Conference on Diversity in Organizations, Communities & Nations in Patras, Greece.
