Hauenstein Center speaker to discuss presidential character

With a presidential election just more than a year away, Grand Valley’s Hauenstein Center for Presidential Studies is hosting a speaker who will examine the importance of the personal character of a president.

Michael Beschloss, a noted speaker, author and historian, will discuss the qualities it takes to be a meaningful leader of the American people.

The latest installment of the biennial Character and the Presidency series, the presentation by Beschloss is presented in partnership with the Peter F. Secchia Family, Meijer Foundation, Gerald R. Ford Foundation and Gerald R Ford Presidential Museum & Library.

Beschloss will also discuss his latest book, Presidents of War, which was included on Bill Gates’s 2019 “five best books” list.

Beschloss has been described as “the nation’s leading presidential historian” by Newsweek, and is the author of several best-sellers. He is a regular contributor on many news programs, including NBC News, PBS and more.
