MDEQ public meeting on Viant Medical set for March 6

A public information meeting is being held by the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality about the air quality concerns in the area around the Viant Medical facility in Grand Rapids, near the Pew Grand Rapids Campus.

The meeting will take place March 6 from 5:30-9 p.m. at the Eberhard Center, 301 W. Fulton.

The meeting occurs during Grand Valley's spring break and will be streamed live beginning at 6:30 p.m. through the website www.michigan.gov/viant

Agenda:

5:30 p.m. Open House – The community is invited to meet with staff from the MDEQ, Kent County Health Department, and the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services.  

6:30 p.m. Presentation – Members of the MDEQ and the county will review history and current situation.

7 p.m. Informational Session – The community may ask questions of a panel of representatives from the MDEQ, KCHD, and MDHHS.
