Nov. 14: Alumni Breakfast, Student Celebrations
About 80 people attended an alumni breakfast at the Eberhard Center November 14, honoring President Philomena V. Mantella as inauguration week activities continue.
Mantella spoke to an audience of current and former members of the Alumni Advisory Board. Also, the first of four student celebrations was held November 13 at the Cook-DeVos Center for Health Sciences. Mantella thanked the audience of faculty and staff members, and students who are majoring in nursing and health professions, and said the inauguration is a celebration of the life of Grand Valley.
"This gives us an opportunity to look back at the leaders who built this university and look forward," Mantella said.
Students were given T-shirts that read "We are bold, we are driven, we are GV."
Student celebrations continued November 14 on the Allendale and Pew Grand Rapids campuses. View the entire schedule of events leading to the November 15 investiture ceremony online at gvsu.edu/inauguration.
