President Philomena V. Mantella has reappointed two faculty members as Presidential Fellows to provide enhanced leadership development for faculty and greater engagement of faculty with university leadership.

Chasity Bailey-Fakhoury, associate professor of Educational Foundations, has been reappointed as the Presidential Fellow for Strategy Development and Outreach.

Aaron Lowen, professor of economics and finance department chair, has been reappointed as the Presidential Fellow for Enterprise Learning & Development.

Bailey-Fakhoury will work with Mantella and members of the Senior Leadership Team on university strategy and will assist in operationalizing initiatives across the university. She will have a special emphasis on supporting faculty innovation as the faculty lead for the Innovation Fund planning and review team.

Lowen will work with the president, the Provost's Office and a team of faculty and staff to strengthen and advance enterprise relationships and expand outreach. This will include organizing and leading a business development team to identify and visit target companies for initial business-to-business outreach. It also includes engaging faculty and staff experts for their input on making educational offerings more visible and accessible.

Presidential Fellows also serve as members of the President's Cabinet and participate in university leadership meetings.

This is the second year of the Presidential Fellows initiative, which is open to all tenured faculty members. Applications for Presidential Fellows for 2021-22 will be available in January 2021.
