Project Reach Out highlighted in national higher education publication

Grand Valley's effort to reach out and call every student during the displacement caused by the COVID-19 pandemic was featured in a story by a national publication that covers higher education.

The story posted online April 17 by University Business included comments from President Philomena V. Mantella, who told the publication that Grand Valley leaders wanted to ensure that they reinforced in the virtual world the connection that students have to the faculty and campus.

She said so far about 170 employee volunteers have made the calls, reaching more than 16,000 of the students.
