Reflecting on a year of change, faculty member emphasizes moving forward with good things learned from experience
As Alisha Davis, director of the Allied Health Sciences program, reflects on the past year interacting with students, she said a bottom line for success definitely emerged: flexibility.
Davis said faculty members in the program already had experience of teaching online, so they had a good understanding on how to adapt — and how to adapt on the fly.
That need for flexibility also extended to connecting with students, Davis said, including night or weekend meetings if that was helpful for students.
"I think this whole year has changed us, it’s changed our students," Davis said. "How do we take those good things from this experience, those things that we’ve learned to value, and apply them in the classroom?
Davis and fellow faculty members have found numerous ways to optimize the learning experience and connection to students as they conduct classes virtually. GVNext has been showcasing their stories.
Watch Davis talk about her experience in the video below.
