Lakers travel to Colorado to face No. 21 Colorado State-Pueblo
No. 4 Grand Valley faces its second top-25 opponent to start the season, meeting No. 21 Colorado State-Pueblo at 8 p.m. (EDT) on September 10 in Pueblo, Colorado.
The Lakers climbed to No. 4 in this week’s American Football Coaches Association’s poll, following their thrilling, late victory over then-No. 4 Colorado School of Mines on September 1.
Colorado School of Mines took a 22-17 lead with 5:43 remaining in the game, but quarterback Cade Peterson rallied the Lakers on their final drive.
Peterson connected with Jayk Slager on a 2-yard touchdown pass with 56 seconds remaining, lifting Grand Valley to the 25-22 win.
Saturday’s game with Colorado State-Pueblo is the second game in a home-and-home series between the schools, following last year’s 34-14 Lakers win at Lubbers Stadium.
The game will be available for streaming via the Thunderwolves page on the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference website.
Fans can also listen to the game on WLAV-FM (96.9 FM) or the station’s webpage, wlav.com.
