Winter 2022 Commencement ceremonies to be held at Van Andel Arena

Update on March 23, 2022: Graduates will be allowed up to 8 guest tickets which will be available to claim April 4 through April 22 via an online ticketing system.

Grand Valley’s Winter 2022 graduates are invited to attend in-person Commencement ceremonies at the Van Andel Arena in Grand Rapids. Dates and times are determined by students’ specific colleges.

The deans will welcome each college, and there will be no student procession. Students will be permitted to walk across the stage to receive their diplomas. 

Ceremony details are listed below:

• Friday, April 29, at 7 p.m.

College of Liberal Arts and Sciences

• Saturday, April 30, at 10 a.m. 

College of Health Professions

Kirkhof College of Nursing

Seidman College of Business

• Saturday, April 30, at 3 p.m.

Padnos College of Engineering and Computing

College of Education and Community Innovation

Brooks College of Interdisciplinary Studies

Masks will be required. 

More information regarding tickets and the Digital Yearbook will be provided in the coming weeks and communicated via the Commencement website and students’ email. 

Current plans assume the GVSU Alert Level remains at Level 2. GVSU will monitor COVID-19 guidance from the CDC and state and local public health officials. Plans will be adjusted as needed to address new orders, guidance and data.
