GVSU Homecoming 2024: What you need to know

Grand Valley’s 2024 Homecoming celebration will take place from Oct. 28-Nov. 3. The week of Homecoming will include a variety of events for students, including returning traditions like Lip Sync Battle and a GVSU T-shirt swap, as well as new events like DIY pom-pom making and themed spirit days. There are select events for alumni, including the Class of 1974 Golden Reunion, then & now campus tours and more. Football game

GVSU will take on Wayne State University in Lubbers Stadium at 3 p.m. on Nov. 2. If this is your first game of the season, check out what’s new at Lubbers Stadium this year , including additional restroom and seating areas, alcohol sales and zero-waste efforts.

Alumni Tailgate

From noon-3 p.m. on Nov. 2, celebrate and catch up with alumni during an alumni tailgate, featuring Reunion Row, where you can catch up with Lakers from alumni networks and departments. Enjoy grab-and-go snacks, giveaways, yard games and family activities. Grab a drink in the alumni tailgate tent while supplies last. Food will also be available for purchase from alumni-owned food truck, Casa De Los Abuelos.

Ale trail

Carillon Concert

In between your then & now tour and tailgate, celebrate the 30th birthday of Allendale’s Cook Carillon Tower with a concert! This 45-minute Carillon concert starts at 11:30 a.m. and will feature a variety of tunes including GVSU’s fight song and alma mater. Bring a blanket or chair and enjoy the concert, food trucks, prize drawings, and more. View the program and full event details on the Carillon Concert Series website .

Other athletic events

A variety of other athletic events, including the first-ever GVSU women’s wrestling meet , will also take place on Nov. 2. Learn more at gvsulakers.com .
