GVSU in Photos, June 2024: Celebrations galore, snazzy sneakers and a special flower full of surprises

Lex Larkspur did "the whole West Michigan circuit" of Pride events, attending festivals in Grand Haven, Grand Rapids and elsewhere. After growing up in a small Michigan town with no Pride celebrations, moving to Grand Rapids was great, said Larkspur, because "all of a sudden, those events were everywhere."

Juneteenth celebrations at GVSU began early on June 19 at the second annual Juneteenth Jubilee Breakfast. Following the breakfast was the Junior Juneteenth Freedom Parade presented by West Michigan Jewels of Africa and the City of Grand Rapids.
