Grand Valley State University has been named a top university in the Midwest by U.S. News & World Report. In the 2018 Best Colleges rankings Grand Valley ranked 3rd for Top Public Regional Universities in the Midwest.

GVSU enrollment again tops 25,000
Grand Valley State University hit its enrollment goals with regard to total enrollment, first-year students, transfer students and minority students. More than 4,000 freshmen have enrolled at the university for six years in a row. This is one of the highest first-year enrollments in the state, as Michigan continues to see a decline in the number of high school graduates.

The economic impact report covers Kent, Ottawa and Muskegon counties and used 2015-2016 data. Grand Valley employs more than 3,600 people and enrolls more than 25,400 students who spend money and pay taxes in the region.
