Community Directors (CDs) are professional staff members who have a Master's degree in student affairs. CDs are live-in staff members and they assist in the daily operations of residential communities. These operations include administrative duties, managing conduct, supervising an RA staff, and providing support to residential students. CD staff members serve in the HRL duty rotation and have extensive experience in crisis management, facilities management, campus policies/student code of conduct, and student development.

Brooke Rempalski

Ella is a junior studying exercise science and hopes to go on for Physical Therapy. This is her second year being an RA and is exited for another year of making an impact on students. She hopes she can make a welcoming and fun environment for everyone in her community.

Chandler Colvin

First Year Resident Assistant

Chandler Colvin is a double-majoring 19 year-old sophomore at Grand Valley State University. She studies biology and behavioral neuroscience, with aspirations of becoming a cardiologist. She is a part of the pre-med club, participated in Black Excellence and is very grateful for the opportunity to be apart of the community at GV!

Devina Chauhan

Devina is a 3rd year RA and rising senior in Biomedical science major and cell&molecular biology minor. Devina loves to go out for cafe hoping and exploring new places. Apart from RA Devina works in IT and DSR as mentor for student with neurodivergence.

Jackson Hicks

This is RA Jackson (he/him/his), he is a third year RA majoring in English Literature and minoring in Writing! He enjoys reading, nature, writing, and photography. You can usually find him in the English Department or the nearest dining hall. Ask RA Jackson about what book he's reading right now!

Elizabeth Kalafut

Lizzie is a Clinical Dietetics Grad student from Lake Zurich, Illinois. She has been an RA for 4 years and loves helping her residents find their place in campus. In her free time she can often be seen running outside , lifting at the rec center or studying at kliner! She also loves to hang out in her apartment and play with the ESA lilac!

Noah Masen

Noah Masen is currently a second year student on campus. This is his first year being and RA, and is super excited. He is involved in different clubs on campus like the "Seidman Mentorship Program" and fraternity "Phi Kappa Tau".

Joy Spann is currently enrolled in her fourth year at GVSU. This is her second year as a resident assistant. Joy's major is in Health Sciences with a concentration in Social Sciences. She is excited to work with students from all kinds of backgrounds as they transition to GVSU.

Albert Okwei

First Year Resident Assistant

Major: Public Administration

Albert Okwei is an international student from Accra, Ghana, pursuing his Master of Public Administration at Grand Valley State University. He serves as a graduate assistant at the Seidman College of Business Dean's office and is the Finance Officer of the Graduate Student Association. Additionally, Albert is a Cook Leadership Academy fellow and a member of the Omicron Delta Kappa National Honor Society. He is dedicated to community building, volunteering, and fostering an inclusive environment for all residents. In his free time, he enjoys cooking, staying active, reading, and watching documentaries.

Harrison Smalley

Harrison Smalley is a second-year RA at GVSU studying nursing. When he isn't studying or in class he enjoys to workout, reading, and being with friends. Harrison also likes to travel up north where the weather is much cooler. He looks forward to being an RA and meeting many new faces.
