In the first ever Grand Rapids celebration of International Women’s Day, SowHope teamed up with the Hauenstein Center for Presidential Studies to bring two screening of “Let Me Sow Hope,” a documentary film exposing the overwhelming challenges and vulnerabilities faced by impoverished women in the developing world and the transformational effect of hope.

The film screenings were followed by a Q&A session with Mary Dailey Brown, CEO of SowHope, and a panel discussion moderated by Mayor George Heartwell featuring Ramya Ramanath, Genevieve Sabala, and Mary Dailey Brown.
