What are the challenges, rewards, and opportunities encountered by women in executive leadership roles? How can we prepare and encourage the next generation of female leaders? The Hauenstein Center has partnered with the National Governors Association to hold a historical, first-time-ever gathering of U.S. Women Governors and other scholars and leaders to discuss leadership issues and gender.

Conference events included the following: Governors Christine Todd Whitman and Janet Napolitano as they participated in a Common Ground Conversation; Governors GranholmKuninRobertsBlanco, Perdue and others  participated as speakers and panelists; author Deborah Rhode discussed her new book, Women, and Leadership; and esteemed local leaders from our own community discussed their experiences and work as leaders and women.
