Effective January 1, 2026, GVSU will have a new Flexible Spending Account (FSA) partnership in Health Equity. FSAs plans were previously administered by iSolved Benefit Services. You can learn more about FSAs on the Health Equity website.

FSAs help you save in the following ways:

• Your entire elected amount for the year is available to use at the beginning of the plan year.
• FSA funds deducted from payroll are pre-tax.
• Funds used for eligible medical expenses are not taxed as income.

Reminder: FSA Fund Expiration

FSA funds are subject to a use-it-or-lose-it rule. Unused funds will eventually expire. We recommend checking your Health Equity account regularly to ensure your funds are not being lost.

• If you are not enrolled in the GVSU High Deductible PPO Plan, you have until March 15, 2026 to incur expenses for reimbursement from your 2025 GVSU Flexible Spending Account.
• Receipts for all 2025 GVSU Flexible Spending Account claims must be submitted to iSolved Benefit Services (previous administrator) no later than March 30, 2026.
• If you will be enrolling the GVSU High Deductible Plan for the first time in January 1, 2026, you must have your 2025 medical flexible spending account used up by December 31, 2025.
• If you have a 2026 Dependent Care Flexible Spending account you have until December 31, 2026 to incur expenses. Claims for the expenses must be submitted to iSolved Benefit Services no later than March 30, 2027.
