Description
The "Embracing Neurodiversity: Building Neuro-Inclusive Work and
Learning Environments" workshops aim to shed light on the concept
of neurodiversity and its implications within organizational settings.
Through the interactive sessions, participants will gain a deeper
understanding of neurodiversity and learn how to create a
neuro-inclusive work environment for colleagues and a neuro-inclusive
learning environment for students.
The agenda for the sessions will include a focus on the following:
- Introduction to Neurodiversity
- Understanding the Range of Neurological Differences
- Misconceptions Surrounding Neurodiversity
- Common Strengths of Neurodiversity
- Fostering Neuro-Inclusive Learning Environments for Students
- Fostering Neuro-Inclusive Workplace Cultures for Faculty and Staff
- Accommodations and Support
- The Importance of Allyship and Advocacy
- Transitioning from Understanding to Practice
Learning Outcomes - Participants will be able to:
- Explain neurodiversity and its significance in organizational settings.
- Identify and dispel common misconceptions about neurodiversity.
- Develop strategies for creating and fostering neuro-inclusive environments for students and colleagues.
- Identify appropriate support mechanisms for neurodiverse individuals.
- Advocate for neurodiverse individuals and transition understanding into practical applications.
