The Kaufman Interfaith Institute is excited to offer several sacred site visits across the West Michigan area during the 2024-2025 school year.

For our September visit, our hosts will be the Sikh Society of West Michigan on Wednesday, September 18 at 6:00pm

Important notes!

  • During our visit to the gurdwara, you will be expected to remove your shoes and cover your head with a bandana, cloth, or scarf upon entering. No hats or hoods! Coverings will be provided for those who do not bring their own.
  • You will also be invited to sit on the ground during our visit, though chairs will also be available.
  • Dinner (a sacred shared meal called l angar) will be provided by the members of the Sikh community as a part of our visit.
  • If you need transportation to and from the site, please be sure to indicate this on the form below. While we cannot guarantee transportation, we will do our best to accommodate!

This visit is specifically intended for GVSU students, with exceptions being made for interested faculty and staff. However, the Kaufman Interfaith Institute also organizes sacred site visits for members of the larger West Michigan community.
