Who is the Báb?
- The Báb is a title which translates to the "Gate" in Arabic and is used for the herald of the Bahá'í faith who was born Siyyid 'Ali-Muhammad in 1819 in what was then Shiraz, Persia, now Iran.
- The Báb’s mission was to awaken the people to the fact that a new period in human history had begun.
- He is considered to have paved the way for the incarnation of Bahá’u’lláh, the founder.
The day is often celebrated with prayers and devotional readings.
