What is Naw-Rúz?
- Naw-Rúz is the celebration of the Bahá’í New Year, which begins at sunset the night before the Spring Equinox.
- It comes at the end of the 19-Day-Fast, which is observed by many Bahá’ís.
- While there are no set rituals for Naw-Rúz, many Bahá’í celebrants will gather for a meal, perform music, dance, and read sacred scriptures.
- It is also known as the Persian New Year and is celebrated by a number of other communities.
- Many Bahá’ís will observe they day by taking off of work or school.
