What is Easter?

- The week immediately before Easter Sunday is called “Holy Week,” which commemorates events in the story of Jesus’ crucifixion, death, and resurrection.
- Popular holiday symbols include Easter eggs and chicks which are often said to represent new life.
Did You Know...?
- Because they use a different calendar, Eastern Orthodox Christians celebrate Easter on a different date. In 2024, Orthodox Easter will take place on May 5th.
