Description
The Grand Dialogue in Science and Religion is an inter-institutional, interdisciplinary, and interfaith exploration of science and religion. The Dialogue seeks to find positive ways of relating these two great ideas in a constructive dialogue. Participating organizations each have their own unique perspectives, foci, message, and intended audience. By cooperating, we affirm the willingness to be open to various issues and perspectives in a spirit of mutual respect.
For 2020 we will explore the theme of Climate Action: An Interfaith Imperative. In the spirit of interfaith representation, this event will offer two dialogue sessions in which five individuals talk to one another about their identity and offer wisdom for this necessary work. Panelists will offer insights out of their tradition and work around Climate Change followed by breakout sessions in which participants will learn strategies for solidarity, adaptation, and mitigation.
This year’s dialogue is intentionally scheduled near the beginning of the Earth Week to promote city-wide initiatives that are happening to mark the 50th anniversary of Earth Day.
The conference is free and open to the public. Optional lunch is $5 with advance registration.
