Interfaith Dialogue and Service: The Time is Now!

On Monday, January 11, Calvin College hosted Eboo Patel, a lecturer and author of "Acts of Faith," in a conversation with students from Aquinas College, Calvin College, Grand Valley State University, and Hope College. Meghan Bogema, a student from Calvin College and an intern for the Kaufman Interfaith Institute helped organize this event.

During the afternoon, Patel spoke as a part of Calvin College's January Series with his topic, "Interfaith Leadership: Engaging Religious and Philosophical Diversity in the 21st Century." Patel shared his Muslim theology on interfaith cooperation and encouraged the audience to create their own ideology in respect to their own faith traditions as well.

Later that evening, Patel spoke with students from the four campuses as they created goals for what they wanted to see in their communities for the future. The students shared their ideas and reflected with one another as to what 2016 has in store for them while moving forward in the interfaith movement across college campuses in America.
