Concurrent Enrollment
This form should be submitted prior to the start of the semester you're wishing to take classes at another institution. This form is not necessary if you are taking classes at another institution during Spring/Summer semester unless Spring/Summer is your first semester at GVSU in F-1 status.
When considering concurrent enrollment, it is important to realize that in order to graduate, all GVSU undergraduate students must:
- complete their final 30 credits at GVSU
- obtain at least 58 credits from a 4-year university
You can review all requirements on the Registrar's website: Applying to Graduate - GVSU Registrar. For additional information about concurrent enrollment and graduation, reach out to the registrar's office at [email protected].
The ISS Team will review your application to determine if your combined courses meet full-time requirements. Concurrent Enrollment at two SEVIS certified schools is permitted as follows:
- Combined credits must meet full-time enrollment regulations, ie:
- 9 or more credits graduate for Fall/Winter semester
- 12 or more credits for undergraduate for Fall/Winter semester
- only 1 online course total between both schools
- At least half the credits per Winter/Fall semester taken at GVSU
- ex: graduate student 9 credits total (6 credits at GVSU, 3 credits at another school)
- ex: undergraduate student 12 credits total (6 credits
Processing Time: all immigration requests are expected to take about 1 week (5 business days) to process.
