GVSU IT Leadership Seeks to Inspire Women In Technology

Supporting and empowering women who lead in technology is the goal and mission of the Michigan Council of Women in Technology (MCWT). MCWT offers opportunities for personal and professional growth through leadership development, networking and more. They desire for Michigan to be the number one state for women in technology.

Grand Valley Information Technology's Melissa Cunningham, Senior Director of IT Operations, and Heather Hardy, Technology Acquisition Manager, are active MCWT members. Recently Cunningham and Hardy attended MCWT's 2023 Leadership Clinic. Attendees were inspired through keynote speakers and breakout sessions to lead authentically within their organizations, as well as to set goals for themselves and their teams.

When asked why it is important for Cunningham to be a member of MCWT and participate in leadership development opportunities, she shared, "As a woman in the field of technology, I find it empowering to surround myself with other women who are equally dedicated to ensuring their own success as well as inspiring others to pursue a career in technology."

Upcoming MCWT events can be found online at www.mcwt.org/events
