Updates to Zoom Web Portal

Admin Features

  • Allow hosts to enable focus mode when scheduling meetings - Admins can enable this option at the account, group, or user level. Navigate to Account Management > Account Settings > Meetings > In Meeting (Advanced) > Focus Mode and select “Allow host to enable focus mode when scheduling.” This feature is only available to users on version 5.8.6 or later. Scheduling meetings in focus mode is also available for the Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, iOS desktop clients; Outlook add-in and plugin; Zoom Scheduler for Chrome and GSuite Add-On; Zoom Scheduler for Firefox; and the IBM Notes plugin. 
     
  • CSV import file for group users - Account owners and admins can upload a CSV file to import a group of users. They will have the option to manage users by adding, changing, updating, or deleting user group information when editing users through CSV upload.
     
  • Automatically delete deactivated users after a set amount of time - Account owners and admins can specify the number of days before deactivated users are automatically deleted from their account. Learn how to set this timeframe in your advanced user settings. 
     
  • Enhanced authentication options for webinar panelists - When a webinar host invites a panelist by email, they can require that the panelist use the Zoom account associated with that email. If a panelist tries to join while not logged in or logged into the wrong account, they will be prompted to sign in or switch accounts. This feature is also available for Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, and iOS desktop clients.  Learn more about how to enable or disable authentication profiles

User Features

  • Calendar integration privacy settings - When assigning scheduling privileges to other users in the Zoom web portal, account owners and admins can choose if these users can manage their meetings that are marked as private in Outlook or Google Calendar. If the users cannot manage private events, they cannot see the invite link, meeting topic, or attendee list.
     
  • One-time password requirement for logins from a different country - Users who have a work email login type and don’t use two-factor authentication will be prompted to enter a one-time password when Zoom detects they are logging in from a different country.

Meeting/Webinar Features

  • Save custom gallery view order - Meeting hosts can save the order for subsequent meetings. The customized gallery order is saved to each unique meeting ID, which allows the host to load the saved customized gallery order to avoid continually customizing the gallery order for each meeting. This feature is available for Windows, macOS, and iOS (iPad only). 

Chat Features 

  • Preview public channels - Public channels can be previewed before joining and will show the channel name, description, number of members, and some recent messages. Previewing is not available when Advanced Chat Encryption is turned on, and recent messages will not show if the channel admin has restricted new members from seeing previous messages. This feature is available for Windows, macOS, Android, and iOS desktop clients.
     
  • Missed meeting call button - When contacts call you to join a video meeting and you are unavailable, missed meeting calls will be centrally located so that you can check what you missed, with the ability to jump to the chat or channel or start a video call based on the missed meeting call. This feature is available on Windows and macOS desktop clients on version 5.9.0 or higher. 

Zoom Apps Features 

  • Support for Zoom Apps in Breakout Rooms - Zoom Apps can now be accessed and used while in Breakout Rooms. This feature is available for Windows and macOS and requires version 5.8.3 or higher.

Phone Features

  • Transfer calls in Desktop Power User experience (Power Pack) - Users with the Power Pack add-on can search for contacts and transfer calls directly from the Desktop Power User experience without opening the main Zoom desktop client window. This feature is available for Windows and macOS.

Updates to Zoom Phone

Admin Features

  • Call queue opt-out reasons (Power Pack) - Account owners and admins with the Power Pack add-on can set a list of opt-out reasons for call queues. When enabled, all call queue members will need to select an opt-out reason when turning off the “Receive Queue Call” toggle. You can change this setting at the account level (multiple sites disabled), site-level (multiple sites enabled), or call queue level. Admins can also view the opt-out reasons in the call queue real-time analytics dashboard. Members must have client version 5.9.0 or higher to select the reasons.
     
  • Enhancement to call queue alert notifications - Account owners and admins can enable notifications to alert them of the number of waiting calls in a call queue. They can set up their notifications as “Warning” or “Critical” and then receive an email notification when those events happen.
     
  • Enable video greetings and videomail for phone users - Account owners and admins can enable video greetings and videomail for phone users, allowing them to record a video greeting that is played for missed inbound calls from other Zoom Phone users in the same account. These users can then leave a video voicemail message (videomail) that can be played back. This feature requires desktop client version 5.9.0 or higher and is available on ​​Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, and iOS.

Updates to Zoom Rooms

 

  • Support for Smart Gallery - Smart Gallery is now supported for Win, Mac, iOS Zoom Rooms Controller (ZRC), and Android ZRC. Zoom Rooms Smart Gallery can focus on multiple participants in a conference room, providing each person with their own video feed. 
     
  • Support for Workspace Reservations (Beta) - Workspace Reservations are now supported on Win, Mac, Appliances, iPad, iOS ZRC, and Android ZRC. This allows users to reserve workspaces and Zoom Rooms on the web, kiosks, and Zoom Room for Touch devices. Users can also check into workspaces through the web or Zoom Rooms for Touch device. View floor maps showing available and unavailable workspaces on digital signage, kiosks, and the web.
     

Updates to Zoom Events 

 

  • Speaker update -  Speakers can now add polls to their session, which are submitted to the host for approval. A new Speaker Tab has also been added to the lobby, allowing attendees to bookmark sessions, view speaker session details and view all sessions involving an individual speaker. 
     
  • Event setup enhancements - When creating an event, all uploaded images can be manually resized to fit the allotted space, including the event covert, speaker, logos, sponsors and more. When creating an event in a Hub for the first time, you now need to first publish your account’s default Hub. 
     
  • Multiple Recording files - If a session has multiple recording files, the longest file will be provided to attendees as the recorded session.
