Zoom Updates - Week of June 15, 2020

  • Setting to disable email and password login: Account owners and admins can now disable logging into Zoom with an email address and password. This setting can be found in the Zoom web portal, under Advanced then Security.
  • Configure whitelisted domains for bypassing the Waiting Room: Account owners and admins can now add domains which can bypass the Waiting Room. If a user is logged in to their Zoom account with an email address at this domain, they will bypass the Waiting Room and join directly into the meeting.
  • Unmute all for meetings of 200 participants or fewer: The meeting host can now unmute all participants for meetings with 200 participants or fewer. This option is available in the host controls by clicking Participants, then More.
  • Setting to disable participant annotation: Account owners and admins can now disable participant annotation from the Zoom web portal. The participant who is sharing their screen can still annotate, but all other participants will be prevented from annotating if this setting is enabled. This setting is available at the account, group, and user level.
  • Manage virtual backgrounds for the account: Account owners and admins can now add virtual backgrounds to the Zoom web portal for all users on their account. If the virtual background setting is locked, users will only have access to the admin uploaded virtual backgrounds and will not be able to add their own from the Zoom client. This setting is available at the account and group level and requires Zoom client version 5.1.0 and above.
