ENS 238: Michigan's Waterways
Exploring Exploitation
Touring Michigan’s Historic Waterways & Their Tragedies
Throughout the semester of our class, “Polluted, Poisoned and Pillaged: Exploring Michigan’s Waterways Through Time”, we read, discussed, and examined media that covered a variety of watersheds within our Great Lakes State. We were then tasked with researching a waterway and how it met its downturn. Michigan’s past displays this repetition of disregard for the environment and in every case, life was risked for the sake of profit. By compiling our biographies along with digital objects into an exhibit, we can tell a holistic story of the detriment that occurred to waterways throughout Michigan.
