Cosplay Maker Circles
August 30, 2024
Do you like making things? Do you like being social why you make things? If so, you're in luck! The Student Interest Group for Illustration (SIGIL) is hosting Cosplay Maker Circles in the library! The Maker Circles are a social place to work on projects. They happen Tuesdays from 6-9pm until LakerCon, a 3-day comics convention at GVSU.
The Art Gallery is providing free "Deely Bopper" headbands you can create. You can also take inspiration from pieces in the Art Gallery Collections.
We will also provide fiber arts materials and sewing and embroidery machines. Sewing not your thing? You can try out new technologies in the Tech Showcase or the Digital Creator Lab, too!
Or bring your own project or design your own cosplay costume for LakerCon! (There will be a costume contest, and you can enter costumers or Deely Boppers.) Just make sure your project is something you can work on around other people.
Allendale Maker Circles happen in the Grand Atrium of the Mary Idema Pew Library September 3, 10, and 17. There will be a Maker Circle downtown on September 12th from 2-6pm in the Steelcase Library Collaboration Zone. Have questions? Reach out to the Maker Circle Organizers!
