Laker Store on Monroe – Activation Space

Activation Space Information and Policies

Self-Service:
Advanced Reservation of the Space is Required. 

GVSU’s “Laker Store on Monroe Activation Space” is a Self-Service option for Faculty, Staff and registered student organizations conducting University business.

Room Set-up:
The Activation Space is a small area within the retail space of the Laker Store.  Incorporating outdoor space into your plans provides additional space and increased visibility.

Indoors:
The preestablished location is under the digital wall, immediately inside the store’s front door.  A six-foot table with two folding chairs is available for your needs.  There is a standard power outlet at the location.  GVSU network access and Wi-Fi is not available, guests can sign into the guest Wi-Fi of the GRAM.

Outdoors:
The Laker Store Activation Space continues outside in front of the store facing Rosa Parks Circle. 

How to Access the Space:
To reach the Laker Store Activation Space, enter from the door on Monroe Center. This door is open during normal store hours. Please see Laker Stores Hours here:  Laker Stores Hours

After Hours:
If you plan to use the building outside of store hours, please contact Conference & Event Planning at (616)331-6620 for arrangements. 

Set-up:
You are welcome to utilize the onsite table and two chairs. A table covering (not provided) is required.  If you do not have a table covering, please let Conference & Event Planning know.

Storage and Deliveries:
The Laker Store on Monroe is not able to provide space for storage for your use.  No deliveries should be made to the Laker Store prior to your event and no materials can be left behind.

If giveaways are part of your event, please let Conference & Event Planning know at

Audiovisual:
There is no audiovisual equipment or services at this location.

Recycling & Trash:
Onsite receptacles are very limited for recycling and trash. If your event will generate any significant trash, please let Conference & Event Planning know at (616)331-6620 or [email protected] so we can arrange custodial service.

Parking:
Metered on-street parking and paid parking lots are located throughout the downtown area.
