MIPERC is an inter-institutional infrastructure dedicated to incorporating interprofessional practice with education in the Midwest region. The 2016 MIPERC Conference is a regional event that features nationally-known speakers who will share their insights and experiences in interprofessional education, practice and research. In addition to the speakers, the event will host educators and practitioners who will present their own work related to interprofessional education or practice through podium or poster presentations. Over the years this conference has served as a catalyst for new ideas and initiatives providing opportunity for networking and developing new connections.
Students are welcome to attend and participate!
PRE-CONFERENCE INFORMATION
This workshop will offer an interactive environment for round table discussions on specific themes of interprofessional education and practice. Topics include:
- IPE Faculty Development
- Overcoming Obstacles to IPE & IPCP
- Student Clinical Learning Experiences
- IPE Simulation and Virtual Learning
- IPE Scholarship

Abstracts Are Currently Being Accepted!
(Deadline for abstract submission has been EXTENDED to July 15, 2016)
MIPERC invites submission of abstracts for poster and/or podium presentations for the 9th annual Interprofessional Education Conference in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Students are encouraged to participate.
POST-CONFERENCE WORK GROUP SESSIONS
MIPERC will offer meeting space to organizations who wish to meet with their team after the conference to debrief and work on their interprofessional plans.
Participants should indicate their interest on the MIPERC conference registration form.

Conference Objectives:
Upon completion of the learning experiences associated with this conference, participants will be able to:
- Describe mechanisms for maintaining optimal patient care flow, team vitality, and effectiveness in an interprofessional practice (IPP) environment.
- Propose strategies for determining optimal IPP team compositions for various types of health care services and patient populations.
- Identify IPP contributions to chronic care management and health promotion and disease prevention services.
- Describe the use of interprofessional teams in population health management.
