The purpose of this course is to help participants examine theories and practices related to intercultural understanding and develop strategies to teach with a global perspective. All students will participate in a teach abroad experience. The course aims to prepare preservice teachers in becoming culturally competent through preparation and reflection. Winter 2026 - Online
The purpose of this course is to analyze the study/teach abroad experiences of preservice teachers. All students seeking the Certificate of International Teaching Experience will use this course to examine their teach abroad experiences and contextualize their learning in becoming a more globally competent educator. Cross-listed with EDI 321. Offered every semester. Prerequisite: Course will be by permit only for students who have previously participated in a study/teach abroad experience.

Spring/Summer 2026 - Online
This course will address problems of practice in the disciplinary and interdisciplinary content of elementary education. Students will reflect on their program experience, address issues in pedagogical content knowledge for teaching, and create a thesis paper and presentation. Content will come from the language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies. Offered fall and winter semesters. Prerequisites: ENG 401, pedagogical content knowledge for elementary teaching major, and junior standing.
