This course provides students with knowledge of health care issues related to disparities in diverse populations. Students will examine the health care needs of diverse types of patients from both an interprofessional viewpoint and from the specific role of the respiratory therapist in a variety of health care settings. Prerequisite: Admission to the Bachelor of Science in respiratory care (BSRC) degree advancement program.
This course provides students with enhanced knowledge in patient assessment and application of assessment skills to the development, implementation, and evaluation of evidence-based care plans for respiratory patients with common respiratory conditions.
