Biography:

Mary (any pronouns) has been in libraries for over ten years, both public and academic, and is currently the library liaison for English, Writing, Africana Studies, and the Honors College here at GVSU. She is interested in how libraries hold space for the communities they serve in terms of access, inclusion, and promoting information literacy. they are also interested in comics scholarship (form and content), social justice issues, and would be especially interested in a combination of the two!

Summer 2025 Opportunity:

This summer we have an opportunity for a student to work with Mary on a project involving zines in the library. For example, a final product might take the form of creating zines of library information that can be downloaded on the GVSU Libraries website, and/or available for students within the library. This can include information about the physical building locations, resources, events, finding books in the library, etc. If you are interested in this project, please indicate so in the letter of interest in your application!
