Description
Hello All,
This week in philosophy club, we'll be finishing up the latter half of the film we started watching last week, which ended up being nothing from the Nolanverse but "Whiplash" instead. It is a fantastic film that explores themes concerning the cost of greatness, what is the real value of that greatness, and extreme pedagogical approaches. If you missed last week's screening but wish to join in on the fun for this week of all weeks, then you can simply watch the first hour of the film and join us for the rest of it! Or, you can make it like a dream sequence and just start things off in the middle. It is ultimately your choice. This will be our last meeting of the semester and a swell end to what's been a fantastic time for this latest generation of the club. The content curation of the meetings that was done by all members, the poignant and prescient contributions to discussion by said members, and the overall atmosphere of friendly intensity over the issues that give meaning to our existence has been an honor to bear witness to and be a part of. If you weren't able to join us this semester, we'll be more than happy to include you for the upcoming one! Concerning everyone's trials and tribulations for the last week of classes and finals week, I leave you with a sentiment from the late author, David Foster Wallace, "I wish you much more than luck."
